Modern Style Meets Functional Elegance
IN THIS DALLAS NEW-BUILD, CANTONI DESIGNER, NICOLE GEORGE HELPS THE HOMEOWNERS CREATE THE PERFECT BLEND OF MODERN STYLE AND FUNCTIONAL ELEGANCE.
Going room-by-room, they began in the living room with the Gamma Sunset sectional—an immediate choice for its versatile, modular design. “Blair and Zach love to entertain so it was key to have comfortable furniture they could easily move around to create various seating arrangements,” adds Nicole. “The sectional is crafted with exceptional leather on all sides so it can be used as a complete piece or separate singular chaise. It’s a great example of how you can customize furniture to fit your needs.”
The piece was quickly pet-approved by the couple’s beloved dog, Riley, along with guests. “We’ve received MANY compliments on all our Cantoni pieces, in particular the retractable back cushions on our couch,” adds Blair. To complete and complement the room, Nicole brought warmth and the perfect pop of color with the Lima chair in a praise-worthy gold velvet fabric. In the kitchen the flow of thoughtful design and well-appointed furniture is continued with matching bar stools.
Bold patterns and sculptural statements come together to create a dynamic space for dining and entertaining. The angular base of the Spyder dining table offers an eye-catching focal point, which the couple intentionally chose to complement the geometric light fixture. The Rita side chairs, which were customized in cool grey velvet bring warmth and texture.
Throughout the home Nicole worked with Blair and Zach to select just-right pieces that would keep the house connected while also adding a fun, unique style. In the master bedroom the bed is a strong, neutral piece that grounds the room allowing for colorful accents such as the custom yellow leather Parabolica Swivel Chaise. “Each piece was selected with the idea of simple, yet unexpected design,” shares Nicole. “By utilizing Cantoni’s extensive portfolio and longtime partners, I was able to provide Zach and Blair with options tailored to their tastes and needs.”
The home office is one room with a few more unexpected designs like the green bookcase, which is also a secret door to a second office! As for the desk, Blair and Zach needed plenty of working surface area, but didn’t want the look of a conventional desk. To satisfy both style and function, Nicole selected a dining table with an eye-catching base and expansive, durable ceramic top.
The final space to furnish was the backyard—which really feels more like a resort getaway. The analogous layers of blue create a contemporary space perfect for outdoor entertaining. Just as they did inside, they chose a modular seating option that would allow for multiple configurations. They combined various individual seats with occasional tables to create a flexible seating system that could easily be rearranged to accommodate many guests—and their drinks. When Blair and Zach are not busy entertaining, the Sicilia bistro table and bar stools offer a casual and intimate spot for the couple to relax and dine under the stars.
The end result of this modern rebuild is a cohesive, custom design that reflects casual elegance and captures the couple’s personal style. “Nicole was really exceptional, and our dream home would not have come together the same without her,” shares Blair.
