Houston's iconic condominium, The Parklane, is a longstanding emblem of luxury in the city's Museum District, having been a familiar sight for over 40 years. Recently rejuvenated with a sleek, modern facelift, the condominium offers residents a modern take on timeless elegance. For one discerning new resident, the opportunity to settle into The Parklane coincided perfectly with its reconstruction, setting the stage for a bespoke design journey led by Cantoni designer George Saba.

The client, a worldly traveler relocating to Houston to be closer to her children and grandchildren, found The Parklane's elevated living ideal. However, as the building underwent its transformation, so did her unit. George worked closely with the client to implement strategic structural changes, including removing walls to enhance the open flow of the space. This architectural reimagining laid the foundation for an interior design scheme that would meld sophistication with the functionality demanded by her lifestyle.

George's approach began with an intentional effort to understand his client on a deeper level. "It was important to delve into her preferences–how she lives, her daily routines, and the memories she's collected through her travels," he shared. This thoughtful collaboration guided every design decision, ensuring the resulting space felt as personal as it was polished.

The condo's aesthetic is a celebration of balance: a clean, neutral color palette with carefully curated pops of color creates a serene yet engaging atmosphere. The furnishings reflect the client's love for travel, incorporating globally inspired pieces that seamlessly integrate into a modern, streamlined framework. From plush textiles to sleek finishes, each item was chosen not only for its beauty but for its ability to enhance the function of the space it occupies.

"My client was very straightforward and a joy to work with," George said. "Guiding her through the many options of styles, brands, finishes, and colors was a rewarding process. Together, we built a space that not only reflects her personality and experiences but also serves as a true home."

The finished condo captures the essence of elevated living at The Parklane: a refined, sky-high sanctuary that balances form, function, and sentiment. It's a design that not only enhances its surroundings but also brings joy to its inhabitant–a testament to George Saba's dedication to creating spaces that resonate deeply with those who live in them.
