eNewsletter 200: Star Power
New digs at the W Residences for Dallas Stars owner, Tom Gaglardi.
Cantoni designer, Bailey Burgess, has a way with stars. Not necessarily Hollywood celebs, but the business mogul/owner-of-a-sports-franchise kind. Along with creating a living space for the former head honcho of the Mavericks, she recently completed another plum assignment: plan, design, and install furnishings at the new high-rise home of Dallas Stars owner, Tom Gaglardi. In just five days.
“I was contacted in mid January by an interior designer with Northland Properties, primarily to put together some sofa options,” Bailey explains. (Northland is the parent company to the Gaglardi’s Vancouver-based hospitality holdings.) “They had viewed our offerings online, and Mr. Gaglardi was particularly fond of the Bond sectional and Allure chairs,” she adds. The goal was to create a clean and modern aesthetic, with a neutral palette. Oh, and have it delivered by 10:00 a.m. the next Monday.
Multiple emails were exchanged before Aanya Reiten, the designated Dallas liaison, asked Bailey to participate further by weighing in on the floor plan and offering more space planning suggestions. The central challenge was the timeframe, of course, but thanks to our enormous in-stock selection, as well as our Triple C Service (Cantoni. Customer. Commitment.), we were able to successfully execute this remarkable job.
Our General Manager & V.P. of Operations at Cantoni Dallas, Roxanne Mead, worked alongside Bailey, and took a hands-on approach in order to get the project completed. “We had everything pulled and inspected in less than 24 hours, on Friday,” she explains. “Planning and scheduling on a delivery of this size, in a day, is practically impossible, but I’m proud of the fact our Customer Service and Delivery Teams made it happen. “And let’s not forget that the Ladera bed was a must-have item,” Bailey says. “Fortunately we had it in stock, and in the requested California King size.”
There were a few surprises on that early Monday morning. (Aside from the fact that
Gaglardi was expected to arrive shortly after the 10:00 a.m. deadline.) For starters, the first day of the week is typically Bailey’s day off, so she had her 9-month old son in tow. “We ran across some road blocks, but we were able to come up with solutions on the fly,” reveals the multitasking mom.
In closing, Roxanne Mead states, “This was certainly a high-profile client, but we strive to treat all of our clients with this level of service. Each job is unique, and there are always unexpected challenges, but going the distance for design jobs large and small is how we’ve retained a loyal customer base and managed to stay in business for 27+ years.”
Speaking of milestones, this is the 200th edition of our eNewsletter. And have you noticed the changes to our site? Like fashion, furniture is ever evolving, and so are we. That said, we can’t imagine abandoning our creed, because: Great Design is a Way of Life.

Introducing Bailey Burgess
What can a Hoosier gal, who grew up in Indiana surrounded by steel mills and cornfields, do with a sophisticated room in the city? Quite a lot, we’re happy to say.
Less than two months ago (and in fewer than five days), designer Bailey Burgess worked tirelessly on the project featured in this eNews, allowing the new Dallas Stars owner, and his family, to settle into a posh high-rise home, in style.
Bailey may have been raised in the Midwest, but this down-to-earth wife and mother of one has dreamt of life as an Interior Designer
since middle school. “I’m a planner, and I had grand visions of me sitting in a sea of fabric while leafing through thousands of paint samples to find the perfect shade,” she admits. “Hmmm. I think my dream came true,” she adds with a chuckle.
The one-time gymnast and cheerleader brings infectious energy and enthusiasm to all her endeavors, whether it’s caring for husband and their infant son, Cash, playing with their Lhasa Apso, Princess Buttercup, or working with busy clients at our North Dallas showroom.
“I believe every room has a personality, and I try not to fight it,” Bailey reveals. “I’m a homebody at heart, so maybe that’s why I truly enjoy helping others create their ideal living space.”
Fast facts about Bailey:
- “Princess Bride” is her favorite movie, and the inspiration for her dog’s name.
- Bailey and her husband, Dan, were teenage sweethearts and have been together for 13 years.
- She believes baking “anything sugar-free, with peanut butter, Oreos, pudding and Cool Whip” is therapeutic. And good!
- Shirley Temple was her childhood idol.
So right here, we’re officially giving up a cheer for Bailey Burgess. Consider this spirited designer and mom a woman of A-C-T-I-O-N you can depend on to make things happen.
