CANTONI – Setting the stage in LA
Celebrities seem to be cool with kickin’ it on the Cantoni-designed set of “Young Hollywood”—and that’s exactly how the creators of the international multimedia entertainment company envisioned it.
Along with documenting and distributing celebrity and lifestyle programming globally, the company owns younghollywood.com—a hot online destination for inside stories on the lives of celebrities in showbiz, music and sports. Creators knew the best way to get stars to shine was to design a hip space where they’d feel right at home, so starting in April, they transformed a three-room suite at the Four Seasons Los Angeles into a plush pad—furnished by Cantoni.
“Cantoni was the brand I wanted to work with for the studio because they offer the kind of luxurious contemporary furnishings and accessories that lend themselves to creating a memorable environment,” says Marketing & Events Coordinator, Chris Vanger.
“The Menlo Park sofa is a hit, and it figures prominently in the main room,” Chris explains. “The clean, curved nature of the piece is perfect for shooting because it allowed for depth in regards to camera angles. Plus, everyone says it’s totally comfortable.”
First impressions are important, and the Young Hollywood staff says that upon arrival, the talent feels at ease. “Cantoni’s energy for the studio not only contributes to the atmosphere we wanted to create (for the bar and seating areas), but it also helps us to capture the type of content we want as well. The ultra-cool setting helps celebrities open up more than they normally would.”
“Staging” is nothing new to Cantoni. Cantoni furnishings featured on HGTV
Antonio Ballatore, the Season 4 champion of HGTV Design Star, has made a name for himself transforming “lackluster” spaces into unique, stylish and functional rooms. He, and his bulldog Chewy, were seen shopping at Cantoni Los Angeles last spring for redesign furnishings to be used in a makeover on his hit show, The Antonio Treatment.
Tune in on November 10, 2010, (about mid-way through the hour-long segment) and see how the design wiz used our Allure chairs and other pieces from Cantoni Los Angeles to create a truly remarkable environment. We heard Chewy and Bernadette’s dog, Jake (featured in eNewsletter 181 & 174), are on tail-wagging terms. Feel free to stop and shop with your best friend, too.
