Cantoni Wall-to-Wall
When David and Patty Seizer retired, they planned to move out of southern California. After scouting various Sunbelt locales, they found exactly what they wanted in a growing suburb of Dallas. The Seizers also found Axxium, one of the Dallas's foremost builders of contemporary homes, who in turned pointed them to Cantoni and to Design Consultant Debe Booker.
While their new home was under construction, the Seizers worked with Debe face-to-face when they could and via phone, fax and email from their home in Hollywood. They planned to bring only four pieces with them. Keying off the style and colors of these pieces, Debe and the Seizers created a entire plan for the interior, right down to rugs, accessories and art.
The project began in March, some four months before the planned move. Given the logistics, and the fact that many of the designs were custom-made in Italy, planning and scheduling were as vital as the choices of furnishings, color schemes and interior layouts.
Not a problem, says David Seizer. "Debe and Cantoni are great to work with and kept us right on top of the progress."
While many pieces were in Cantoni's inventory, the custom designs required a leap of faith for the Seizers, who in the end could not be happier with the result and with Cantoni.
"When we moved in," says David Seizer, "more than 70 percent of the house was furnished and the remainder followed as soon as possible." Among the custom designed accents are stylized palm trees created by Laura Jones expressly for the Seizer's interiors.
The Seizers are fans of Formula 1 auto racing and have collected posters and other memorabilia from races all over the world. "Debe had these custom-framed and placed throughout the house, including the garage!"
