Great Design for a Downtown
Dallas Luxury Condo
Cantoni Dallas designer Nicole George knew the client, Veeral Rathod, from working with him on his previous residence. And she knew the Azure, Veeral’s new digs, a luxury high-rise overlooking downtown Dallas.
Young, successful bachelor Veeral had in mind minimalist clean lines and forms, but was not averse to design touches that would appeal to a woman’s tastes. Nicole understood perfectly and proceeded with those specifications in mind.
“First,” says Nicole, “I visited the site with floor plans in hand. You have to see the vertical plan with your own eyes to know what’s really going on with the interior space. Veeral’s airy condo has an incredible view of downtown and a wide-open floor plan, hardwood floors, lots of glass and metal.
“We started with a main palette consisting of a dark tobacco chocolate value. We contrasted this with stark white and added accents of analogous persimmon and pomegranate throughout.
“This color scheme greets you at the entrance with Cantoni’s dramatic Royce floor mirror with woven strap leather and a classic MVDR bench with persimmon leather throw pillows.
“The condo’s living area features the Dolce Vita sofa and matching chair, both in chocolate leather, glass and stainless-steel cocktail table and a wool rug for focused color.”
Nicole custom-designed the Zen dining grouping, scaled to fit the space perfectly. The table’s finish is rift-cut oak with inlays of custom water-embossed glass. The white Ceylon ultrasuede chairs pair nicely with the bar unit, which is designed to hold Veeral’s collection of fine wines.
“Veeral’s bedroom,” continues Nicole, “ includes a wengé wood Pace bed with Stage nightstands, Esatta swivel chairs in persimmon leather, and an Avion entertainment unit ―all Cantoni collections.
“There is a balanced mixture throughout for Veeral’s collection of art. Abstracts on canvas, metal and wood are carefully positioned along with Indian and Asian sculpture that reference Veeral’s heritage and affection for antiquities.
This project dramatizes Nicole’s design philosophy: “Every interior shell is the same; they all have walls and windows. It’s the client and the purpose that make the space unique.”
Mission accomplished, Nicole. Congratulations on realizing this wonderful client’s vision and then some. And thanks to Veeral for again trusting Nicole and Cantoni to bring his dream to reality.
