The Boss' House: An Ongoing Labor of Love
"And what is your YOUR home like, Michael?" is always one of the first questions Michael Wilkov is asked when people learn he's the Founder and CEO of Cantoni. We think what they are really asking is: "do you practice what you preach about design? Is your home Cantoni?"
If you live in North Texas you might have saw Jocelyn White's "Designing Texas" show on KTVT (you can watch the segment below) you have the answer.
Of course the answer is yes: the Wilkov home is Cantoni inside and out! Michael opened the first Cantoni in 1984 out of a love for quality modern design and believed the market was there. Now in five major markets from California to Georgia that belief has been realized.
The key point in the TV tour revealed that long and careful planning went into Michael's home. From choosing the site to finding the right architect (Michael did as many do, browing design magazines), builder and landscape designer. And that's before they began to select furnishings and art and completing the interiors - with the professional guidance of of the Cantoni Design Team.
Another point the show brought out: modern design can be warm, comfortable, and cozy at the same time it is creative and bold.
Like most homes, mine is a work-in-progress. I'm always looking for new things in the course of buying for Cantoni that will find a home somewhere in my house.
