El Uno y Unico En Monterrey Residence

One & Only in Monterrey

New client happens into Cantoni, falls in furniture love with our collection, and then our one-and-only design and customer services. Bingo, another Cantoni success story–this one with an international angle. (El Uno y Unico is “one and only” in Spanish.)

The client, Beatriz Cortes de Maldona, is an interior designer living in Monterrey, Mexico. She’d done a lot of research on the Internet for modern furnishings for her condo (then under construction), and had flown into Dallas to visit stores on her list, including Cantoni.

Beatriz was greeted by Design Consultant Mercedez, who says, “I encouraged her to tour the showrooms on her own and told her I’d be available to answer questions. Which she did, then left to visit another store.”

A short time later she was back, letting Mercedez know that it was no contest: “I believe,” says Mercedez,”that our displays and our buying team won this project for us. The client was immediately drawn to the many vignettes, which show off both our product and our design talents. Cantoni’s buyers and visuals staff are such a vital part of the process. I don’t think they get saluted enough for the super job they do!

“We got right down to business. Beatriz showed me her floor plan, gave me an overview of what she wanted in the way of furniture, fabrics and colors. It was a fun experience: two professionals speaking the same language of design solutions.

“After I translated her metric dimensions into inches and feet, we were off and running. In less than three hours, we had the space entirely worked out, furniture and accessories selected, fabrics and colors chosen and special orders in the works.

“As her completion date was some four months away, we had plenty of time for domestic special orders on upholsteries and other items. This was great because Beatriz had carefully chosen fabrics and colors that would complement but not compete with the panoramic views from her condo.

The next phase of the project involved Mercedez working closely with our customer service team processing the order and the incredible pros in our distribution center, who assembled everything, verified the correct special order coverings, packed it all up and shipped to the U.S.- Mexico border for delivery and installation by the client’s transfer agent.

“Meanwhile,” says Mercedez, “customer service and I kept Beatriz continually updated on the status of her order.

“As you can see by the images, her space is not only beautiful, but everything fits beautifully. I’d also like to call attention to our stone and metal “Swing” dancers sculpture. We chose this particular piece as it echoes the graceful curved lines etched into the glass entry.”

Great job, Mercedez and many thanks to our wonderful new client, Beatriz, who had many options but in the end chose Cantoni for a variety of reasons that this project story illustrates. I think it speaks volumes that a professional designer chose Cantoni to help design her own home. And handling orders outside the U.S.? No problem.  We’ve been doing this for years.

In closing let me remind you–as did this client–to “window shop” cantoni.com, which we made-over last year to be more functional in presenting our collections and services as well as easier to use.  You can build a wish list of products you’d like more information on or want to see in person.  You can use the handy email contact form that appears on each product page of the site that lets us respond to your interest promptly.  And you can also purchase a number of items directly from shop.cantoni.com.

Of course Cantoni, being thoroughly modern, is a corporate user of Facebook, Myspace and Twitter. I encourage you to connect with Cantoni through these fun “social networking” media: not only learn more about our products and services, but about Cantonians like Mercedez, other designers, our buying team, managers, visual display wizs, our great back office and support troops. By the same token, we can learn more about you, your interests and plans for your home–and help you realize them. But I have to add: as this story proves, there’s no substitute for a visit to our store!  If you’re just down the street or live in another country.  It’s an experience in itself and it’s always evolving.
