Delacey Project

Cantoni Los Angeles got a call from long-time customers, Mike and Nairie Balian, who were reviewing several high-end stores to find the best one to design the interiors of a model unit to showcase and promote their Delacey Place condominiums in downtown Pasadena.

Mike, president of Toledo Homes, is one of the premier residential developers in the area. His Delacey Place, in the heart of the city, he envisioned as “living art.” Cantoni was delighted with the opportunity and the Balians were impressed with Cantoni designer Bernadette Capellaro. Bernadette is a graduate of Parsons School of Design in NYC and has more than 25 years of experience in interior design.

With the project’s floor plans and the clients’ wish list in hand, Bernadette created a comprehensive design presentation, including storyboards and room plans with furniture placement, fabric and lighting selections that would bring Cantoni modern flair to the project.

Once the plans were approved, other members of the Cantoni LA team came on board to help Bernadette fulfill the Balians' vision and specifications. “We knew our clients’ expectations from the start,” says Bernadette. “Quality, uniqueness, service, and availability were the driving forces as we headed towards our deadline.

“Jay Haen, our store manager, made sure our Triple C (Cantoni Customer Commitment) standards of customer service were maintained and that the project progressed smoothly.

Denise Medina, LA Cantoni’s operations assistant, was involved from the start with many CAD drawings, and Alissa Sutton, helped stage the unit by selecting the final paint colors, art selection, accessories, even the hand towels!

“With Cantoni’s ‘Great Design Is a Way of Life’ theme in mind, we pulled together a sophisticated selection of our hottest collections:

For the dining room: Love Letters table and Love Letters side chairs with the Fiorellino light fixture.

Living room: White leather Mondrian sectional, Mink Velvet area rug. Stone walnut travertine Hi Lo cocktail table.

Master bedroom: Night & Day cal king bed, Night & Day night stands, dresser, floor mirror and bench, and Bon Ton lamps, and Zebra rug.

Second bedroom: Citta bed, Angel Hair rug, Vitrium panel shelf, Bigoli floor lamp, and Zag white gloss lacquer étagère.

Office: Arches desk, Persia executive chair, O-Hi side table, Dubai area rug, Allure chair in pony hide, Manhattan mirror and credenza.”

Thanks to Mike and Nairie Balian for choosing Cantoni for this exciting project and permission to showcase it in this eNewsletter.

Props to Bernadette, Jay, Denise and Alissa for their artistry and hard work to ensure the model unit at Delacey Place was perfectly designed down to the smallest detail.

It is this level of creativity and collaboration and the knowledge and experience gained in our 25 years in the business, along with great product and millions of dollars of available inventory, that makes Cantoni the premier modern design resource in our immediate market areas and well beyond.
