Dazzling Jewel of a Home
When I heard about an amazing project underway in our Irvine location, I knew we needed to feature it. The final results were so dramatic and unique, that I decided to let designer, Terri Mechanic, give you the details on her latest masterpiece in her own words. From Terri: "With palatial homes sparkling like galaxies of diamonds against the nightscape, Beverly Hills after dark is theatre for the eye. You wonder who lives in this mansion…who in that.
"Cantoni can claim pride of authorship for the interiors of many a spectacular home in Southern California–most recently this casually elegant 10,000 sq. foot manor in Beverly Hills.
Clients discover Cantoni in a variety of ways. My favorite “case histories” are pure serendipity: homeowners looking for “modern” and “contemporary” read or hear about Cantoni, drop in and are instantly in love with both our product and the Cantoni experience. Then they learn of our Design Studio resources as well as the talents of our designer staff and the process begins.
"I happened to be 'up' to greet the owners on their first visit to the showroom. The foundation for their new home had been poured and the interior walls were still able to be reconfigured. The couple had brought in the floor plans and I assured them that they would be all we needed to get the interior master plan underway.
“That, plus the fact that they (he-apropos- a jeweler) both had a keen eye for beauty in all its facets and a love for the clean lines and forms of pure contemporary design was the reason they sought out Cantoni in the first place. My challenge was to help guide them to what they envisioned for the finished product and strive to exceed their expectations.
“This is an incredible house, very sculptural, open and airy, with two huge living areas and a dining area that flow into one another as the interior of the house seamlessly pours to the exterior via the same floor surface.
“To get the design process started, we strolled through each vignette of the showroom as I took note of their response. By this process of elimination, which has a direction and movement all its own, tastes and patterns emerged along with color and comfort preferences. They pointed to particular collections as well as to individual objects.
“One of the great benefits of shopping Cantoni is the huge selection and inventory. Our clients love knowing that except for special orders, which may take a bit more time, their selections will be delivered and installed as soon as possible.”
